M62/S Valmet handguard removal

Howdy,
I've got an M62/S Valmet rifle, and I'm trying to get the hand guard off to get some surface rust off of the retainer.
Anyone know how to remove the hand guard? It's nothing like a standard AK.

Part 3/7 spins off. M62 or M76, works the same.

Man, this is the first thread on a M62/S i've seen. I bought one many years ago; rather odd looking round holed black plastic handguard and a very nice wood stock. What are these things going for these days?
Mine is in mint condition but no box. I haven't seen any at the shows. What's the story about how many of these were imported and when.

I also have an M62S with the "cheese grater" handguard. When they hit the market the asking price runs from $2800 - 3500. Only about 600 of this version were imported, less than the M62 with the tube stock.
