How do you give a Golani that "loved by the IDF" look??

Steel wool? Naval Jelly?

Just Knew we would have an N_T inspired "Throw It Down The Driveway" reply right off the top!

He has passed over from the AFRCOM board to "Legendary"

I've been using mine now in all sorts of weather for about two years now and it's starting to look a bit worn around the edges. CAI's shitty finish.

@frank Sorry for hurting your feelings about mt statement. I really wanted to know why you would want to f-up the finish on your new rifle. I just do not know what it would do to make it or you better. I have to carry a Firearm at work and always try to take good care of it. Why would you not?

I don't know about him, but I knot to tie things together with rope.

If you're going for the Wasteland Relic look, I'd say rub the whole thing down with steel wool a few times to lighten the color. Then give all of the hight points and edges extra attention. A wet washcloth covered in sand might help, too. You want it to look worn, not scratched.
Personally, the thought of intentionally killing a finish turns my stomach.
I echo letting nature take its course by letting it wear out with use.
The one gun I don't have a problem with doing this to is the AK47. They are the MILFs of the gun world. They look good new and they look good old.
