UTG Galil Tacitical Quad Rails - do they work? Anyone have experience with these?
UTG Galil Tacitical Quad Rails - do they work? Anyone have experience with these?
I am looking to either fix my front handguard from pushing up or to replace it with a working one. If I try to fix will post photos of what I did. Small lever will never stay down all the way. UTG rail could replace handguard IF iT works.

I have 2.Great mount for the cash.
The railed handguard works good too.

Got one a few months ago. Thought it was great at first. Went on easy, Tight fit, looks good. Then I tried to pull back the bolt: major problem. Your fingers rub along the SHARP top rail. Very painful. Charge the handle quickly and you may end up sawing off a finger.

I removed mine without even shooting it. Command Arms also has a version without the extended top rail that may work much better.

thanks for the info!
scoping the galil was/is an interest. might have to think about the hand slice thing or a workaround.
this info will be beneficial to many.
again thanks.
Just swap out the bolt carrier with an AK one and no more sawed off fingers.
If you're going to mount a non-magnifying red-dot sight, just cut off the portion of the mount that cantilevers back over the top cover. This avoids having the mount interfere with charging handle access. With no eye-relief issues and Aimpoint or similar will work fine out on the forend portion of the unit.
Given that every emergency reload on a Galil will include running the bolt, one cannot afford to compromise charging handle access.

says 7 to 12 days to ship. will install and write up range report after it comes in.
mailn thing for me is to get rid of moving front hand guard. I have dremeled some parts (too much to type) and still need to work on more.. also, tried to build cork piece under front part of handguard to stop from moving up (it worked better than I expected but not as good as I wanted). again, too much to type. the small lever pops up on the front handguard and it irritates me.
would also like to try scope/red dot. feels like reasonably accurate firearm.

removed to clean gun and replaced. scope was still zero'd in. wow.
ths solved 2 problems for me.. 1 handguard at front would move upward. 2. i could scope up and benchrest shoot with 12 round mag. is not a tack driver but scope helped me hit 5" target at 100 yards reliably. 50yds made small groups (2") shooting wolf hollow point and soft point.
very happy with purchase.
