Finally got the Zrak 8X scope on my M76. What round is the best for this rifle?

Is it 196 or 198 grain? Is that Prvi good stuff?

What runs well in my M76:

Prvi 198 gr FMJ
Prvi 196 gr SP
Yugo M75

There are probably plenty of others that function well, but those are the ones I use regularly and have personal experience with.

Rifles can be peculiar in what they prefer, what suits one rifle doesn't guarantee good performance in another.

I've been using the Romanian steel cased ammo. That seems to run fine, but I got the Zrak scope. I'm not sure if those scopes are made for 196 or 198 grain ammo. I guess I can get both and try them out.

The Zrak ON-M76B scope is calibrated for the M75 round, which pushes a 198 gr. FMJBT bullet at ~2400 fps at the muzzle. I wouldn't be surprised if the turrets on your 8x Zrak had the same calibration.

Prvi's 198 gr. FMJBT load with a published 2425 fps muzzle velocity closely duplicates the M75 load.

I have not checked the POI differences between M75 and Prvi 198 gr. FMJ, but the 198 gr. Prvi would probably be a good starting point for your 8x Zrak.

You can always pick up some M75 as well.
