I know of the M76 in 8mm. But to have one of these in .308 would be great! Any chance of that happening?

Semi-automatic Sporting Rifle M76
With a thumbhole stock ("sporter configuration") it should be good to come in.
I just bought a brand new .308 VEPR (manufactured 10/27/2010) and in it's current configuration (thumbhole stock, 10 round mag, factory flash hider) it gets in without issue.
The PAP is another example.
Look on gunbroker, three or four on there right now.

No, they are actually .308 guns just like you have pictured. They were imported by Mitchell in the late 80s. They are actually quite common albeit a good portion of them are in the "postban" M-90 configuration (and way overpriced) but they are real Zastava made .308 guns. I have a couple in my collection. Two rifles in the second row from the bottom.
