 Shooting trip (long winded)

Today, my buddies and I grabbed our firearms and my Aunty for a good 'ol shooting in the woods. We get up to where we want with a nice 20 degree wind blowing off the cliff and the sun getting close to setting. No time for targets so we scout for natural objects that we thought weren't fitting.

We start off with his P22. Badass little gun, accurate, no malfunctions, super comfy, fast follow-ups. Would recommend to anyone looking for a plinker. Next I busted out my new to me unfired Russian SKS. Seeing if the Ruskies happened to have sighted it in 70+ years ago, I shot at some clays within 25 yards. Spot on. I stepped it out to 50 yards, aimed at a hole in the rockface of a cliff we carved with bullets. Center hit. Sweet.

Grabbed my PSL and started shooting offhand at some boulders (Truck sized) a little over an *estimated* 300 yards. Hit, hit hit... and so on. So I take aim at a man sized rock adjacent to the boulders. Hmmm, prone time. So I drop onto the rocks and shoot a mag. Scored 3 hits out of 10 with irons *I hate scopes and learned on leaf sights*. I decided to up the anty.

Ruskie SKS in hand I move the sight ladder to 3. Low. Sight ladder to 5. Left.. hit.. right.. hit hit.. etc. Scored 8 hits with my new SKS from the prone using stock open leaf sights without alterations. Let my friend/brother shoot with my SKS because they wanted to be Combloc Pimps as well. My brother scored 5 hits at a relatively fast pace *shots less than 2 seconds apart *also brought up on ak style leaf sights** and my friend scored zero.

Decided it was time to stretch out the PSL again. Laid prone and used my hand as a rest *gotta train like we are fighting a war*. Closed the bolt (oh so silky smooth using that motor oil) and sent them down range. Only allowed enough time to hear my spotter call it, letting my whippy PSL barrel get nice and toasty *shoulda brought butter*. Tell you what, the sparks off that rock from those steel cores were impressive. Scored 8 of 10 like the SKS.

To finish the day we busted out some steel plates and made swiss cheese *albiet some hard cheese* with my PSL. Freakin 5/8" and 3/4" do a good job of JUST not letting those 54R's through. I will never worry about if I can hit someone behind any kind of cover with that gun.

Oh, for someone looking for cheap sound reducing headphones ya'll should check out those Allen sound sensor thingies. They look cheasy as fake tits but they are in fact nutz. You can hear just fine but they dampen loud noises without batteries and cost $20. You can tell by clapping with them on. But nothing quite dampens the sound of a PSL by your head, my ears were RINGING when I was calling for my buddy, through gen-you-ine ear muffs.

Moral of the story is anyone saying these guns' iron sights suck can officially go blow themselves. Like anything it all comes down to what you practice, and how much you practice. I think that anyone who says things need to be a certain way with certain techniques can also blow themselves. Do what works for YOU and keep doing it til it you are fast and repeatable. That goes for many things. And who the hell actually likes looking through a hoop? I sure don't.

Pics added so none of that "Pics or it didn't happen" bull honky

Me and my Aunty up in our spot. *Don't bash my wool's and jogging shoes, I use those to sneak up on deer, WAY quieter than normal camo's*

The steel plates

Figured my guns are so beat up and trashed everyone here would berate me so I left them out . If tempted I will though.

Now that it's early I better clean my guns before the corrosive burns through my rifles
