Any info on the factory? The gun was imported by Poly USA.

The factory made weapons for export.
nice sks, heres some info i got from a book i purchased called "The SKS Carbine" by Steve Kehaya/Joepoyer.
Chinese SKS carbine (type 56) were manufactured in a number of different factories and so markings will vary somewhat. Most factories are designated by code, usually a number inside a triangle if the production was intended for military use and circles, rectangles or ovals if for commercial use. yours seem to point towards commercial use since you have a oval withe number inside. if your rear sight has a letter "D" these were for export/commercial use
thanks for the information and compliment! i didn't konw triangle factories were typically military rifles and other factory shapes were otherwise. i learned something new today

That is a great book, but it is not the SKS bible.

As far as I can tell there is no bible. The book is a great source of info. There are also awesome web sites out there to add to our knowledge of the carbine. I think a book could be written just on the Chinese SKS maybe even 2 if China would release info on them. I've just seen too many instances where in the book it states "all" or "only" then I'm at a gun show and see something totally different.
