Yea but they are good rifles and for a guy that cant afford to go first class they work but the tricked out ones do look like they belong to the fuzzy dice crowd.

I have one that i did up in 1990. You know - Folding stock, Muzzle break, banana clip (magazine), kept the spiker, ballistic rope wrapped around the folding stock. Over sized Trashco scope with a ventilated hand card and shell deflector. It was a hoot when your 18. Now - I still have it but i lost the original wood stock, did not keep the box, lost my receiver cover and serial numbered 10 round stock mag. But i paid $89 back then and shot the snot out of it.

So i am reminded of my adolescence every time i see it.

There are some awesome tricked out SKS's and then there are some that are real turds but lets be honest, we are all starting out with the same gun, an SKS surplus rifle that in most cases looks like sin to begin with. And let me be the voice of reason here and say that to each their own.

tapco fucking an sks should be a crime

I'm all for improvements to a rifle but when I see an sks with everything replaced EXCEPT for the crappy ladder sight system, it does seem like the owner cares more about cosmetics than how the thing actually shoots. Of course its their gun and Tapco needs to pay its employees too so who am I to criticize...

They look awesome, unless you're a lefty. Then, you're gonna start missing some teeth

I like the Timbersmith monte carlo stock on the SKS.
The bullpup just looks interesting but not on a SKS, IMO. It is like having chromed rims, and a mean sounding exhaust pipe on a tricked out Dodge Neon.
Even if it functions, I can not imagine putting a Tapco on my SKS.

Black is the new chrome bud. These rims look pretty good if you ask me...
