i picked up a slr-106ur and a slr-107ur to do a couple krink sbr's. i have been reading alot of mixed emotions on the merit of the slr-106ur in the sbr configuration. i know i'm going to still do the sbr on the 107 because as far as my ak collection goes, i'm pretty much "all-in" on the 7.62x39 platform. the 106 is the only 5.56 i own in an ak. should i just scrap the 106 idea and get rid of the thing and not be dissapointed in the results i'm going to get? would it be wiser to just stay with the ar platform for all my 5.56 projects? i already have a extra daniel defense lower i can use for a sbr if i wanted right now. looking for some input.
there is on really jaded individual here that I'm sure will love to jump into this thread. His thoughts are not to waste your time with the 106 and stay with AR's for 556 SBRs. There have been plenty of happy people though. I say do it, someone will buy it if you're not satisfied. Bulgarian mags FTW.
I think the general concensus is that 7.62x39 loses less performance in sbr form than the 5.56.

The SLR-106UR is an excellent rifle.
They aint geting any more FPS outa the AR SBR's. The 106ur has a side folder.
