Through searching, I have found that the AK that has MISR on it, can now be figured out.
MAADI is the name of a Suburb of Cairo Egypt.
MISR is the Egyptian term/word for "Arab Republic of Egypt".
Anyone here having one of these rifles should see the words MISR on them... some were apparently imported without those stampings on the receiver, but that's what it means. Your rifles that also have S/A means "semi-automatic".
Seems some rifles thought to be from factory 54 in Egypt didn't have the MISR stamped on them, such as Steyr and otheres.. . I can't account for those. I searched extesively using the Google engine, and found those facts.
Many folks think that MISR means: "Made in States Receiver" Or, some other terms.. not true, all AK's made in MAADI are marked with MISR, and the term is just a form of saying Egypt.
As you may note, I'm from Missouri.
