A Tigr in .308!?!

Damn that is just about frickin' perfect! One more reason to move to Switzerland if Obammy gets re-elected.
BTW, clever title pun.

The price tag on those rifles is staggering.
Comes out to around $2700 USD for the .308 Tigr - wow.
Even if they were available here - too rich for my blood.
Man I would love to have a lot of the guns on that site, including those Tigr's.
F@#~! Bush 41 and F@#~! Clinton for banning these in the US market.
They aren't banned by the US, they are banned by the Russians as part of the VRA. The Russians agreed not to export them here.
If the VRA is expired on the Russian side they would be importable again minus the flash hider, unless the ATF decided to find some other quirk to deny importation.

The VRA was drafted at the request of Bill Clinton right before Russia came off the ITAR list of proscribed nations. He gave them some of our tax $ to do it
Also, while the Tigr/SVD series was not designed as a select fire weapon, they do contain a safety sear and subsequently could be modified to fire FA simply by removing the disconnector

I could convert my aks to FA by just twisty tieing or file down my disconnector . But then again that is a slam firing and without the proper timing is a potential bomb. I would love to see what would happen in real life but I'm not that stupid.

Actually no, that wouldn't work. The hammer wouldn't pop the primer on the 2nd round because the tail (on the rear of the bolt carrier) would absorb most of the force. You would have a chambered round with a faint mark on the primer but the hammer would be down. You would have to charge the weapon again to reset the hammer after each shot and that means half of your mag capacity would be ejected. AK bolt rifle

Spoken like someone who's never closely examined the trigger mechanism of the SVD.

Oh, thought as long as you sharpened the firing pin and also used no mil surplus rounds it would work. But as I have said never seen nor attempted it so I don't know the real results just the theory behind it.
