current pricing of saiga 12 and near future?
hello everyone!
i been watching saigas 12 for some time and kind of wanted to get one. well the first time i looked in to them is when they were already at their highest point, at
$999 or higher. i did a little research that time and found bunch of information about shipment of them beeing held up at customs and that supposely no more
of them is going to be inported. gun broker prices went up to $1200 and someone here was selling one for $1000. well i didnt want to spend that much and
kind of forgat about it.
the other day i came across one and it was $600 and checked gunbroker and they selling for $565. looks like they came down in price and i was wondering
if you guys have any info, speculations on that subject. do you guys think they are going to go down to their original price of $399
what would suggest for first time buyer?
thank you.
buy now speculate later
Classic Arms has them for $499
The ATF was making noises about banning the importation of some shotguns that they falsely claimed had no sporting purpose:

Between that and some other heavy-handed shenanigans, the ATF managed to send the price of Saiga 12s skyrocketing.
Then, like an old-fashioned Hollywood cowboy movie, the good guys in Congress wearing the white hats rode into town and saved the day, vanquishing the evil Obamoids before they could complete their nefarious plans:

So Saiga prices have been coming back down.
Where will they end up? Dunno...
nice!
so they did came down. that is a good news :)
i think i'll be looking to get one of those now :)
thank you!
that is exactly what i was reading about them while ago, about atf trying to ban. but now no worries :)
thank you for detailed reply.
Ill say this much. In Texas the austin show The best price I saw was 649 after months of looking all over town. I bought it. I asked the guy if they were coming down in price, or availability. He said it took him 10 months to get two of them. This is the old style with the side mount bracket. The newer ones dont have that.

Yeah. I looked on gun broker and there is a good amount of the new ones there and price is pretty fair. I've seen couple of them go for under $600, but they are all new style without rail mount.
Well and heck by the time with shipping and ffl fee, it was cheaper just to buy it at the show.
Here's a dumb question. Why can I go buy an Arsenal Saiga shotgun with a pistol grip in .410 but _not_ the 12 gauge? Wtf? I have a Saiga 12 I paid a local gunsmith to modify for me (I'm like a broad when it comes to anything mechanical), but would love to buy another with a more "factory" feel like the Arsenals.
