Arsenal SGL trigger
Just got an Arsenal Sgl-21-71 for Christmas. I love the gun. Shoots great. I did notice, however, that maybe one out of every 10 rounds the trigger gets stuck. It happens after a round is fired and my finger has the trigger all the way in the rear position. When I let off the trigger with my finger, the trigger will get "hung" in the rear position. I can easily push it forward and the trigger resets, but that's not how it should operate. I took the gun apart and I think the hammer is getting stuck on the disconnector. Is there a quick fix or is this a warranty issue?
Thanks
I have an SGL-31 and replaced the trigger with a Tapco G2 single hook trigger and never looked back. About $30. Waaaay better trigger.
First check if the hammer spring arms are putting tension on your trigger and in the correct position.
If they look okay and the gun is still in warranty, I'd go ahead and send it to Arsenal to look at it. Could be a bad hammer spring or possibly an out of spec part in your fire control parts.
I sent mine in to Arsenal for warranty work and it was back to me in a week.
I've been googling since my original post and it seems no one is ever happy with the Arsenal trigger out of the box. Evidently, Arsenal changes the geometry of the 2-stage trigger to include a "bump" which can cause this problem. It seems the only solutions are to either polish down this trigger or instal a new one. I've heard good things about the Tapco G2 trigger. It just seems like taking a step backward instead of forward.

+1. It'll be the best $30 you'll spend on your AK.
Why not rework the 2-stage with some polishing stones first?
It's not bad if the drag points are polished.

The bump is what makes it feel like a 2 stage trigger. You can grind/polish off the bump but the trigger pull will be very long. Just get a G2 as suggested above.

This, the first thing I do when I buy an Arsenal rifle is replace the trigger with a G2. They are perfect right out of the box and require no breaking in, polishing, adjustment, or modification.
My original Arsenal trigger got stuck in the rearward position too. I replaced it with a Tapco and have not only been trouble free since, but also have a MUCH better trigger pull.
If your bump firing with it these triggers are not designed to do that. If this isn't what your doing I would recommend that you call Arsenal as you may have a problem with something else.
I guess I'm just different with triggers, but I prefer the Arsenal 2 stage to the Tapco G2. I like the feel that the 2 stage gives as opposed to the light, smooth consistant (but long) pull of my Tapco triggered guns, and I find it much easier to be more consistant (and accurate) with the Arsenal.
FWIW the trigger was okay at first, but after several hundred rounds it seemed to get better. I haven't done any polishing at all, I just let it wear in.

I have an Arsenal 2 stage in a .308 Vepr that I really like as well. I like the absolute predictability that the trigger offers.
Other than the considerable re-profiling that goes with installing this trigger in a .308 Vepr, I also spent considerable time polishing the hammer/trigger interface surfaces. In the end, I was left with a really sweet trigger that performs extremely well.
I can't comment on a Arsenal 2 stage trigger that has not been reworked/tuned, but I will say that they have a lot of potential if you're willing to invest the time in them. I chose this trigger over a RSA and G2 and have no regrets.
I have a sgl31 and had the same problem. Don't replace the trigger, just spray some lube on it. It did it once right after i got it, the first range trip in fact. I happened to have lube handy, sprayed it down and it hasn't done it since. That was about 2000 rounds ago.
I was under the impression that the Tapco triggers wre not compatible with the Saiga rifles. They say so themselves.
If this is not the case, I def want to convert it. I installed the G2 doublehook on my Norinco and I love the feel. The stock 2 stage Arsenal trigger feels gritty.

They're compatible. I just installed one. It's a little tricky with the Bulgarian shepherd's hook, but definitely doable.

I ordered the Dinzag Tapco. Apparently they shave it down a bit so it fits better. Shall see. Also grabbed the retainer clip so I won't have to hassle with the shepherd's clip.
