Putting a Triangle side folder on an Arsenal or Other AK
Hey guys, I need some help with an AK project I've been thinking about for a while. I picked up an Arsenal 21-61 a while back and I love it. However, I'd like to have a folding stock. I'm thinking about going with a 5.45 for this project. I do NOT like the full stock side folders that arsenal is putting out these days. I'd like something with a triangle fold. Even better, I'd like something that folds to the right and won't F with my optics rail. Budget is close to 1000-1200 for this project. Give me some ideas to waste money on!
Doesn't have to be an Arsenal AK, I like Waffen Werks to but I'm not too keen on converting my own saiga at this point.
If you want the stock to fold to the right, Beryl stock or ACE might be your best options.
I was just going to post a similar thread, so OP hope you don't mind if i tag along.
I have a arsenal 21-73. What parts besides the stock do i need ? Who has the best prices on the parts and the triangle folding stock ? How difficult is it to do it my self ?
ACE folding stock. I did one on my Saiga conversion. Came out very nice.
The original Russian/Bulgy triuangle folder will not go to the right. They use a specific hinge design thats part of (or retro fitted) into the reciever with a pin on the left side.
(exact same as the solid poly AK100 folding stocks - just a few different pin sizes and stock angles that can vary)
As per above; to go "right" your best bet is probably an aftermarket stock like DPH, Ace, Tromix, other with an Ace/Stormwerks folding mechanism, and an internal adaptor block or welded plate.
Best of luck
what he said. The ACE stock I got can go right OR left. All I'd have to do is unbolt the stock from the folding mechanism, flip the mechanism around 180 degrees, then bolt the stock back to it. BAM!
I did mine on the left, because I don't want the bolt and safety obstructed by the stock when folded.
