So Atlantic Firearms is selling these along with a few other sites. This version is 7.62... I want to know when the 5.45 is going to hit the market. Anyone know?!? Links?

Not worth it...they want $479 for that instead of $349 for standard forend.

FSB - $45
Lower HG retainer - $15
HG - $30

your time to do it = ????

May be cheaper to start with theirs if you don't want the lugs. I do though, so this conversion means nothing to me. I'd re-do most of it anyway. For someone who doesn't care, and just wants to do a quick trigger conversion, this is a great start!

I would do one of those for a quick conversion. My ideal caliber for the model would be a .223. If you want something that looks like an AK front end but don't need the bayonet this ain't a bad model. Just wish they would knock the price down to $400.

OMG or the .223 Model.
The .223 model would be a GAME CHANGER

No more people price gouging SLR-106's for $900 on the EE!

The front converted Saiga is still too expensive, however.
Uncompleted Saiga's are still too expensive, too.

The current price of an Arsenal is around $740 shipped at some places. You're talking tons of parts, including the 74 brake and the expertise of their build.
I've converted two Saigas and ended up spending $800 on each to get them where I wanted. The SGL is a priced well for $750.

If you don't want the front end converted, going with a $299 Saiga is the way to go.

Looks good if you intend to convert the front end...

I just ordered a 5.45 sporter from JG sales. $300... KVAR has a conversion kit for $85 less the bullet guide which shouldn't be more than $15. For $400 a nice functional AK pattern rifle. The front end doesn't matter much to me.

I do plan on bumping it up to an ACE folding stock and possibly either an ultimak rail or the TWS rail/cover and some manner of small dot sight.

Will 5.45 rifles be offered at the same price point as the 7.62 rifles?

I bought one from Atlantic a few weeks ago. Yes the lugs are ground flat, but I could honestly give two shits about bayonet lugs.

Bayonet lugs to me is like having the M4 grenade launcher cutout on the barrel. I would only ever use an attached bayonet for looks...

Haven't shot mine yet, but I like it so far as it is my first AK

Oh no, it's lacking a purely cosmetic feature.

How come Arsenal hasn't done a conversion job for 5.56 Saigas like they have for every other caliber in the SGL series? Why isn't there a 5.56 Arsenal SGL... ummm 51 or something? is it that they have no problem making the SLR-106?

While you're working on that, can you see if they will ever import a .22LR version?
