Atlantic firearms states that their Saiga AK 47 Rifle IZ 132 will not take standard AK mags...I see pics with them taking standard mags all the time..what is with the rifle that will not take the mags..are the saiga mags only a single stack mag or something???
Saiga's need a bullet guide in order to feed from a regular mag. You might also need to grind down the mag latch a little. Saiga mags are double stack but have a higher front portion that ramps the bullet upward as it is pushed forward.

$25 bullet guide kit from dinzag
- dremel
- drill
Instructions
after you do all that take the demel with a grinding stone and slowly grind down the mag catch until a normal double stack will fit snugly (not too tight, not too loose)
or just buy a bulgy mag catch and push out the pin and remove the old and replace it
your choice

After I do the mag latch mod and the bullet guide..will I be able to still use the 10 round mag it came with??

I think other 10 mags will work but saiga mags have a feed ramp so the bullet will go into the chamber so saiga mags coupled with a BG will not work
All you would have to do is file down the plastic "feed ramp" that is built into the Saiga mag.

true or just buy some regular mags and forget about the saiga mags altogether
