 SAR-1 Buttstock

I have a SAR-1 that I recently removed and sold the Tapco buttstock from. I have a cheap railed handguard on the front, and I'm having trouble deciding what to do.

I think I've narrowed it down to two choices. One, the Timbersmith laminated set (brown or gray) and sell the quad rail. Two, keep the rails and add a black fixed buttstock and US Palm grip.

I've seen pics both ways, and both look great. Any other recommendations, or suggestions either way? I don't have any dedicated/planned use for this... It's just an AK to have an AK. General shooting, and whatever comes up. :) If you think I should go with the black synthetic stock, which one?

Thanks in advance!

IMHO, go with the Timbersmith laminated set in brown and sell the quad rail.

IMHO, I'd go another route. You can get Com Block laminate components from Apex for cheaper , refinish them yourself and have a more correct looking SAR.

Polish palmswell handguards $35

If you like the vertical grip you can get an entire Romanian set with hardware for $35

I've refinished a few sets by stripping with citristrip, light buffing with 0000 steel wool, and then rubbed in some Gunny's paste(bees wax, tung oil, turpentine) and they look great.

I agree with above. Id go native on it with some parts from Apex. I like the battlefield look.
