I have a Mak 90 I want to put a flash hider or muzzle break on what have you guys used? I guess it will have to be a pin on variety? Thanks for the unput
I purchase a die and guide from Brownells and threaded the end of the barrel. They have dies for the original AK thread size.
Nothing. I leave it just as it came. If you look at photo's of Chinese soldiers holding their AK's the barrels are not threaded. It seems that Chinese AK's exported to other countries had threaded barrels. So if Chinese soldiers had AK's without threaded barrels, it's good enough for me, & I'll spend the $ on ammo. GARY N4KVE
mine came threaded, so I put a slant brake on there and called it good. If it had come unthreaded, I would have left it that way
I stumbled an a flash hider/muzzle brake from Kings Armory designed for the 7.62X39. They have 1X14 if you have enough muzzle left to thread or a pin on. I compared my Kings to a AK 74 style brake and it gave the same amount of muzzle control and is a good flash hider also.

I did this and added a Krebs AR-Style flash suppressor.
Looks great!

My newly acquired NHM-91 has three tack welds holding on the muzzle cap, so instead of messing around with removing it, I'm slowly coming around to your point of view.
