I thought I would be able to do this without any help, not exactly the case. I just received the scope , a PSOP 6x42 Kalinka, but I am having trouble getting it to mount on the sidebar. What else is needed? Also, the scope has a switch and is illuminated, I have installed 1 battery in the scope , but no luck as of yet. I have not figured out how to attach a pic. Thanks Ray
Where is the mount on the rifle (high near the top rails and dust cover or low in line with the center support pin)? What kind of mount is on the scope (AK or PSL)? That would be the first questions for mounting.
There are basically three components to getting illumination right:
1. Correct batteries
2. Batteries installed correctly ("-" side out for most)
3. Diode (is it damaged or in good working condition?)
I hope this starts to help, but more info certainly is needed.

The Poly-tech National Match that I have uses a unique scope rail. It is not a military type side rail and you can't mount normal com-bloc scopes on it.
