Picked it up from Ironwood designs from their reject bin.

The imperfections are 2 tiny, tiny knots. You can barely tell unless u look real close (they are visible in the picture)

But i am extremely happy with this purchase, stock is rock solid, and the color is coming along to be almost a perfect match for the OEM handguard. 1 more coat of amber shellac and it should be almost exact.

This thread got me inspired to get a woodpile stock and finally get rid of the thumbhole monstrosity on my new MAK-90.

It's been sitting in the safe since I bought it in the 90's....unfired. Came with the ugly thumbhole stock. I had thought many times of getting the compliant stock and trigger group for it. I finally got the trigger group some years back (Tapco double hook) but never followed through with the stock set. Then I found this thread and about Ironwood Designs 'woodpile' section!! Got the set for under $48 shipped and they got here in less than a week. I went with the laminate buttstock and foregrips and the claro walnut grip. Stained it with some stuff I had in the house....Miniwax 'Early American'. Threw on a couple layers of pure tung oil over a period of 2 days and then waxed it with Johnson's paste wax. I had to trim the height of the pistol grip because the screw seemed too short, but other than that it went on without too much hassle.....little tight.
I had read up on the shepards hook and kept it for the installation of the Tapco trigger group. Went in easily. I just pushed down or pulled up in it where needed to get the pins out without removing the hook/crook and did the same to put the pins back in. I was worried it would be tough since I had read a lot of people go with the Tapco plate in place of the shepard hook.

Now I need to take it out and see if the sights are on or not.

You might want to get the forends and pistol grip too...it won't break the bank either and IMHO, look awesome
