Bulgarian 4-piece flash hiders
Does anybody have one of these? I'm not looking for a copy, but a genuine article. I've looked everywhere and no one carries them. What happened to these? They were imported not too long ago, correct?
Keep an eye on K-VAR. They are supposed to get a shipment of Bulgarian stuff in the next few weeks.
They've already added a few items. Looks like they're getting everything inventoried and listed at this point...
They are in stock at kvar now.
I've got a real one on my 106CR SBR but have not shot it with it on yet, plan on going this week to the range.
Ordered two. I'm excited!
i ordered one of the CNC warrior parts, and to be perfectly honest i wasn't all that happy with it. had i known k-var was getting some real ones, i probably would have just waited.
You can still jump in and get one.
KVAR's website said the ones they have are for 7.62. Why wouldn't they work on a 5.45? Or will they?

They will work fine for 5.45mm. The hole diameter for the bullet opening will be bigger, but that's it. They never made a 4-piece for the 5.45.
Thanks sdrake100. Looks like I'll be buying one too!

Hopefully you'll be using it for a Krink of some type. These gas boosters on a 16" barrel hammers the bolt carrier against the rear trunnion, causing undue stress.

I ordered one from CNC since it's a US part. Hasn't come in yet. What didn't you like about it versus the real Bulgy one?
Yeah, I'm having one built sooner or later in 5.45. Already have an unissued Bulgarian Krink parts kit and Nodak receiver.
I'm sitting on a 5.45 krink kit too. Looking to get one of David's receivers.

i had two "issues" with mine. neither was functional, and many folks probably wouldn't care, but they drove me nuts. (note: both issues are on the body of the booster itself)
1) i don't know what the finish is on the CNCW parts, but i *believe* they are black oxided... well, the color was extremely uneven indicating that the part was not properly grit blasted prior to plate (based on the finish i'd say bead blasted instead, which may be part of the problem). most of the part was a solid semi-gloss black, but about 1/4 of the diameter the full length of the part was a really light brownish-black that looked like you could almost see through it.
2) the part was not deburred at all prior to plate and assembly. every edge that could be sharp, was sharp. and every spot where a tool would push out or roll up a burr, had a burr. the mark that shows the part was made in the US felt like a piece of 100 grit sandpaper. this drives me particularly nuts since i'm always after my guys for deburring...
anyhow, i deburred the body myself, and then sent it to one of my vendors to be grit blasted and phosphated. then, to mimmic the real parts i picked up a semi-gloss black hi-temp (2000°) oil resistant enamel and sprayed the body and cap, then baked them (the process on the enamel i bought required baking and cooling for 3 different times at 3 different temps). it came out looking really nice, and it seems durable so-far.
now, disclaimer time:
IF someone gets a CNCW part that was like mine, you could probably just deburr with a small file and hit it with some cold-blue and it would look fine. if you got a part that looked like mine and you really wanted to go nuts you could deburr, cold-blue, and then paint and have a really nice piece. i went as crazy as i did on mine because it didn't cost me anything outside the can of paint.
further, CNC Warrior has a good reputation and reportedly makes a good product. the reason i said "IF" above is because mine may have just been a flyer. to top it all off i never bothered to contact them about my part. i'm sure they would have taken care of me had i said something, but i already had the part and it took very little for me to deburr and replate. the paint is a non-issue since i had decided i'd paint it to match before i even bought it.
