Waffen Werks AK-74
Ordered a Waffen from Atlantic and picked her up yesterday. Finish was overall excellent. Action seems smooth. Parts appear to be an all new kit with matching numbers. Came with 1 new promag magazine which I am not a fan of and I didnt care for the cheap plastic grip so it was the first thing to go. Replaced it with a Hogue. Next went the wood stock. I would rate the furniture as Good, no gouges. And it is STRAIGHT (which is more than I can say for the Interarms, and after what I went through with them I am glad to be rid of it.. thank you Atlantic). Here is a photo, I will post a range report hopefully sometime this week.

Does it have an American made barrel?
I believe it is a US barrel - didnt have much time at the range today but went through 150rds. of 7N6 without any issues
According to Atlantic it has a new, US made, chrome lined barrel. Just picked one up last week.
I just ordered one today(the Classic with the Timbersmith Red Furniture). The one with the Bulgy furniture was out of stock. I am really looking forward to receiving this rifle and am determined to film a detailed review of it since no one has done one yet anywhere on the net that I can find. Got my AR15 discount too!! Thanks Atlantic!
Any of you guys that have the rifle in hand, please post a detailed review when you have a chance. I promise to post a review of mine ASAP after I receive it.
Well - my Waffen Werks Classic came in on Friday and it is beautiful! Have not had a chance to shoot it yet - that will come a little later this week.
But as advertised it is a numbers matching (trunnion, bolt, bolt carrier) with new chrome lined barrel and it also came with a Bulgarian chrome lined zig zag muzzle brake. It certainly appears to be a new parts kit to me. The trigger group is a Tapco Single Hook G2 with the Tapco Axis Pin retaining plate.(nice little upgrade) The sights are dead straight, and the stock set is the Timbersmith Classic Russian Red and it too is beautiful. The KG Gun Kote is flawless and the action is buttery smooth. These look to be built on the virgin kits that TGI had before they were raided by the BATFE and the receiver bears the TGI stamp on the bottom where the serial number is engraved.
I have to thank the folks at Atlantic Firearms; this rifle commanded a premium price but it would give any Arsenal a run for its money and the KG Gun Kote finish is far superior to the factory Arsenal finish.
I will post pictures and also will be making a video review this week and will post the YouTube link when it is up.
More thoughts to come after sending some lead downrange later this week!
Well I had time to take pics and do a short initial review of my Waffen Werks Classic from Atlantic Firearms.
This is a great rifle! The Gun Kote finish is beautiful; the rifle is straight, and the action is buttery smooth...
I took it to the range and ran 100 rounds of the Romanian Hotshot 68 grn non-corrosive ammo and had no failures of any kind and no keyholing.
Here are some pics:
That's a good looking rifle.
Is that on a Nodak Spud receiver? What parts match?
It is a Nodak Spud NDS-2 receiver. The front trunnion, bolt, and bolt carrier all have matching serial numbers. I just finished another 100 rounds of Silver Bear today with absolutely no issues- this is a really great rifle!

I've had mine now for 6 weeks and have run about 350-400 rounds through it without a single issue. I have shot everything from 68 grn Romanian Hotshot to 60 grn Silver Bear and the 7n6 53 grn corrosive surplus from AIM. Sights were almost dead on from the factory and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
When I make a range trip now, I find myself reaching for the AK instead of the AR I built earlier this year!
Here's a recent "family" picture. I changed out the "Red" furniture for a more traditional look, but I may go back to the Russian Red

Wow that is a beautiful AK, congrats! That red furniture is very striking!
well i think i found my new purchase
I received my Waffen Werks bulgarian classic 74. WOW! fit and finish are amazing, I am going to buy the 74 poly next. I have nothing but good to say about Waffen Werks. the KG coating is perfect.
those look better than the Arsenals for sure.
