Numbers on a kit

Just received this kit from Apex, I sprang and bought one that they advertise as matching #'s on the trunnion, bolt carrier and bolt which it did but I'm curious about the dust cover. It has a 2 instead of a 1 in front of the 440 so I'm pretty sure that its not a match or am I wrong, I'm just not familiar with how the Bulgarians marked their rifles and whats the AE on the dust cover about?

My guess is that is non-matching but at least an attempt was made to make it match (better than those with the original number Xed out and the new one stamped next to it).

Nope they dont match... as long as the main body parts are he same is what counts for me...

It actually mattered when the bolt, carrier, front trunion and barrel were matching. That supposedly meant you wouldn't have to headspace the weapon (contrary to what I have found since getting headspace gauges, everyone should headspace no matter if it's the original barrel or not). Now the only thing you get is the appearance that they are matching (since in most cases the barrel isn't serial numbered). In the world of military firearms it is expected that in the life of a weapon it will be arsenally rebuilt at least once, but most likely multiple times. Each time ending up with new/exchanged parts and proof stamps. For collectors that is what is looked for, not all matching serial numbers (which will most likely differ from what the receiver's serial number is).
