Besides the waffle bulgarian mags from K-VAR which work right , is there anything else , perhaps in metal, whatever that I can use reliably ? I really dislike the waffle design on those bulgy waffle mags ... Thanks

not really. From what I have heard, the smoke mags are the best also. I don't have a 223 AK due to these mag issues. You may want to try and buy some Galil Oralites and convert those. There's a tacked thread on that, or use to be. I'm sure it's still there. You will get 35 to mag that way also.

If you want reliable? - buy factory mags ....
The waffle design is for better gripping but also re-enforces that mag alot

Converted Ak74 mags work as well - but are they 100%...no

I saw a 74 plum mag today ...I have one that is converted with a different follower and seems to be reliable.

How about a green ar15 follower jb welded atop an ak74 follower, in an ak74 magazine used in a Norinco ak? Works fine. Should work fine in your weapon.

if it's well known the the k-var waffle mags are the most reliable, i don't see why you'd want to go with anything else.

i'm sure the transparent smoke mags will take any kind of krylon you'd want to cover them with if you'd like them to be plum.

...or just go buy a SLR105 in 5,45

The ribs on the 5,56 mags are really easy to grip...
