 Bulgarian AK-74 (InterArms) - How'd I do?

I nabbed an absolutely minty Bulgarian 74 today. Interarms built on a Nodak Spud receiver. Bulgarian chrome lined barrel, plum furniture, side rail. You can barely see the scuff on the receiver where the selector slides. I gave 6 bills for it.

I thought that was "fair", not necessarily a steal, but I think it's worth it.

My first AK was a Bulgarian / Global Trades SSR-85C2. I sold it a few years ago and regretted it ever since. I'm hanging onto this one for a while :)

Camera phone quality pics.

The seller told me it's an Interarms build, but there isn't a reference to Interarms on the weapon, only NoDak Spud. Is this normal? Does NoDak complete rifles or only receivers. Forgive my ignorance.

Nodak only makes the receivers. Nice rifle!

Nice rifle, but I don't think that is an Interarms build.

For one thing, Interarms charges $895 for their Bulgy AK's. When you said you paid $600 for it, I was wondering how you got it so cheap.

But the real giveaway is that your rifle is stamped "TGI", meaning it's one of the many AK-74's built by Tennessee Guns. Interarms AK's are always stamped "Interarms" somewhere on the rifle.

The person who sold this to you either didn't know what it was, or was lying. Don't get me wrong...the gun is plenty fine. And for $600, it's not a bad deal. It's just not an Interarms rifle.

mm hmm, good information.

So if it's a TGI build, do you think it's a Bulgarian barrel or US? Any markings I can look for?

Sweet. Well I'm still happy. Got my first crate of 5.45 in, so I'm about to get even happier!

Hes right on being Bulgarian.....I have a TGI build, and its an awesome rifle, but I didn't luck out like you and get the rail on it. Good deal on a nice rifle.
