 Dust cover won't go on

I removed the dust cover to my Draco and I can't get the rear recoil spring block to go inside the hole. It seems to sit low. It will go into the hole if the front of the dust cover isn't correctly seated into it's slot. Any idea as to what I could be doing wrong? It's obviously not defective since it was on correctly when I purchased it. Thanks!

Sometimes they take some effort I use a screw driver to hold the latch or button pressed till I adjust where it should go and then let it go to lock in.... I have an AK-47 that I have to grind alittle to give it more clearance but Have not done it yet....

Try a little lube on the inside of the cover to ease the button.
Also check that the front of the cover is correctly seated and not bent.
I have found that the best way to seat the rear over the release is to line everything up and give it a sharp whack with the heel of your hand.
If the front is seated correctly it will pop right in. Remember you're fighting a pretty beefy spring.

The trick is to make sure the front of the dust cover is fully seated in the grove. Make sure you have forward pressure so it's staying fully seated as you snap down the rear.

Thanks guys. The forward pressure and firm hand slap downward worked!
