Short stroking & mag release leaver pin drifting out. I could not get this Rifle to feed by hand from the Factory 5 RND Mag. I ordered two thirty round magazines. Bulgarian black circle ten. It would function manually smoothly with them. However, when fired it would not extract fully and many occasions when it did extract fully, the bolt did not come back far enough to strip and feed the next round. "IE" closing on empty chamber and bolt catching the side of the casing instead of the back of the head.

What is the likely hood.

#1 Not enough gas,= Short stroking?

OR

#2 Too much gas,= Causing the bolt to bounce back faster than the mag can push up the next round? At times not giving the casing time to clear the chamber.

#3 I notice manually cambering the round with the hammer down the carrier hits the HAMMER at a bad angle. Causing a lot of extra force to kick the hammer back. I believe this could be robbing the momentum of the action process. However If this is the problem shurley Arsenal would have found this as a common problem?

Surely someone else has this problem? If so? I could really use some info on this. I have a RMA# from Arsenal and I am ready to send it back. However I would prefer to avoid that if possible.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Bill

Ok, Well I used a lapping compound on the hammer and the carrier contact points. Cleaned it up and sprayed some CLP on it. Flawless. Simply flawless. It runs like a raped ape now. The hammer and carrier had a rough contact point. That was robbing the momentum of the extraction process. It runs perfect on the two blk circle 10 thirty rounders. I fired 10 Remington soft point loads though it first. I figured the had more power than the Tula and Wolf. I then fired 30 rounds of Wolf then 30 rounds of Tula. All ran flawlessly. I ran 310 rounds without a single problem. I even folded the stock held it loosely beside myself and fired a few mags through it to see if the week hold on the rifle would produce a failure and it fan 100%. The rifle has gained my trust as reliable. I hope this helps anyone who may encounter this issue.

Thanks, Bill
