Pistol grip screw for Milled slr 95 stock conversion

My wife got me a stock set from K-VAR for Christmas. The grip screw did not come with the kit, so I ordered from K-VAR a new screw ( 4 inch short screw) and it is too long. It seem that I need either shorter 3 1/2 inch screw, or a longer pistol grip. K-var only sells a 4 inch and 4 1/2. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks
