Last Round problem with Bulgarian AK

I have a Bulgarian Ak (milled receiver). On the last round, the round actually gets stuck on the base of the trunnion and thereby keeping the bolt open. I'm using HP rounds. Any ideas as to why. Is this a common problem with Hp rounds? I'm able to recreate this problem while slowly manually cycling the rounds, however the last round would jam higher just below the opening of the chamber.

Ok, followup. I concluded that the problem was both the trunnion and the ammo being Hp. The Hp was flat enough to get snagged by the trunnion base. What I did was rounded off the trunnion base (using a rounded file). Result: I took to the range and this fixed the problem. Now it even shoots the Hp rounds ok. Next step in making this rifle 100% is stopping the trigger slap.......

I've rounded the edge on a Romanian SAR-1 trunion before to help with feeding. I'm glad it worked out for you too.

You need to be careful when rounding off the trunion. If you take off too much, the tip of the bullet will not rise high enough to feed into the chamber, and will catch on the lower face of the barrel. This is expecially bad with HP rounds. I've had to weld up the lip on a trunion once to get it to feed right.
