Polish Beryl folder and refinish ?
Can these folders be disassembled for refinishing? The wrap on mine is in great condition, so I wan't to leave it as is. But I would like to parkerize the end to match my rifle. I'm unfamiliar with the pins that hold it together, so any info would help.
Also, anybody know where the mounting screws can be found these days?
I have had mine disassembled looking for some heatshrink to replace the rubber on the tubes for a long time now. The pins holding the tubes to the rear and front folding part are just roll pins and can be punched out easily enough. I think the folding parts at the front portion of the stock are aluminum though, so parkerizing wouldn't work on that. Also I'm not sure how to get them apart without possibly destroying the rivet that holds them together.
They can be disassembled but unless I am mistaken they will need to be re riveted and there are aluminum components as stated above which can not be parkerized. You can refinish with one of the thermal coatings with out totally disassembling it. KG GunKote has a gray that is close to parkerizing or you can mix stainless and graphite black CeraKote until you get the desired color.
