Ken Ewbank Classic AK47
I have been looking for some info on this rifle oline and can not seem much and was told this would be the best place to ask.
Just wondering about the quality of this builder and anything about this model i can get. I do know it was made in Arizona
the receiver is stamped EMACM and was told it's the same as the EMAC90 produced in the Arizona factory and that's pretty much it.
Thanks...Lee
Ewbanks had it's heyday almost a decade ago. Not sure about their builds.
While I can't tell you about THAT specific rifle, some of the Ewbanks rifles had bad receivers. I don't know what he did, but some of his receivers were all kinds of out-of-spec. I found out first-hand when I bought a Polish underfolder built on a Ewbanks receiver, and couldn't insert any of my magazines into it! It wasn't just a matter of tight fit or failure to lock-up, either. I literally couldn't even get a magazine into the receiver. After some post-buy searching, I discovered I wasn't the only person who had that problem. (And yes, I've since learned to check for such problems BEFORE walking out of the store with a rifle.

)
For what it's worth, Ken Ewbanks was the other half of Joeken. Just do a Google search, and you'll get all the details on that enterprise.
If you're interested in this rifle check it out well before purchasing, and make sure everything looks like it works. It may work fine. Still, understand that the builder of that rifle is no longer in business (AFAIK), so if it has any problems, they'll be entirely your problem.
at least the standalone receivers they sold were decent, they would require a lot of fitting, but if properly assembled they were good rifles.
here's my ewbanks romy g assembled by aac of las vegas.... works likea champ!
Thank's for the input everyone... I did end up buying this rifle from a private owner he's is a stand up guy and for a while i thought he was going to back out of the deal.

I'd love to see some pics of your rifle.
Ill put some up tonight.
Cool, you bought the ewbank from BWHass, Brandon is a good guy, I bought his 7.62 ammo and hey gave me a free ammo can, I think his ewbank was based off polish parts but never got to see it in person. But he is a stand up guy I have delt with him a few times. Congrat's!
I recently built a Tula Krinkov on a Ewbanks sidefolder receiver.. It was literally a "turn-key" solution to the build.. I didn't have to do any kind of adjustments on the receiver such as opening up the magwell more or anything.. The whole build went just like a build using an NDS receiver would

.
Here's a pic or two of it ::
The bolt / carrier never had any problems with going back and forth in the receiver, and when I test fired it, it was smooth as can be

.
Just sucks that I had to sell it to pay a bill..

fuck being in debt.

Looks nice, but an Ewbanks receiver for a Tula kit? I personally would have gone with at least Nodak, preferably 74uLLC.
I built 3 rifles on Ewbank receivers. One was perfect, one had issues that I was able to fix(Magwell) and one is still un-serviceable(ejector) which sucks because other than that it is a very solid build.
Yep that's the one he is a very cool guy.
Now if i can just figure out how to upload the pic's or do i need to use a third party like photo bucket.
Here it is.
Dont mind the couch my 110 pound boxer made a mess of it and now we have a 8 week old pup.

Kind of hard to see anything. More details would be helpful.
It's interesting that you have a hungarian type pistol grip on your rifle. OP, it would be cool if you could take some close up pics in the sun.
Wow i like the looks of that rfle.
I will get some better pic's up soon.
I see a new addiction heading my way and im in still full swing AR hangup.
I have a AR part's gun in the safe i was going to make a Michigan pistol out of now im already thinking of selling it to buy another AK lol.
