Thinking about getting one of these for a Krink I am getting. They are supposed to run significantly cooler than others. I would put a T1 in a larue 661 on top and a VFG on bottom. Anyone who has one or used one tell me what they think about it? The top rail looks a little high for an optic in pictures.
I have 2 Krebs quad rails- one on a WASR with ACE stiock, the other on a Romy G kit with wire side folding stock. The top rail is dead in-line with the sight plain, so you aren't eating up a ton of (extra) elevation. OTOH, you can't co-witness. Very solid. I bought mine used, and could not be happier.
Yes, they will run cooler, since they anchor at the front of the receiver, and with a bolt at the handguard retainer. Rails using barrel clamps can get a bit warm, if you're really burning ammo, but for general use, its whatever you can afford.
I have one on my Krink and its definitely a solid unit (no flex whatsoever). My only complaint is the height of the top rail, which I'd like to have a bit lower. I can't say scientifically that they run cooler than the wood grips, but it seems they do slightly... but don't kid yourself, things heat up with a few strings of double taps or rapid fire either way.
I'm thinking of selling mine and trying out the MI Krink rail system since they have an optic specific top cover which would get the optic lower. I'm still holding on to the hope that RS Regulate will release a T1 side mount that is compatible with Krinkovs and keeping the Krebs.
