ACE Folding Assembly Questions - Which One ???

I've been looking at making one of my AK's a folder. The ACE Receiver Block fits damn near perfect, which is good.
But, now I have to ask for help from the members here about their expierences with the ACE Folding Mechanism's.

The Standard Folding Mechanism cost's $60.00, and uses Spring pressure to keep it in either the "Locked Open" OR "Locked Closed" positions.

And then there is their "Folding Mechansim - Push Button" which cost's $90.00. And uses steel Locking pieces and a Push-Button to Open or Close this mechanism.

With only a cost difference of $30.00 between the 2, price is not a HUGH issue.
What I really want to know is; Do both of these units Lock-up tight? Is there wobble when Opened? OR, Closed? Is there anothe company out there that makes a Folding Mechanism for the AK Family?
I have decided to go with a metal Stock. I have seen the Tromix plastic stocks crack and break, and I don't want to have any issue's like that.

If you have pics of you AK's with these types of Folding Stock s and you want to share them, please post them.

Thanks,
Chief

I have used the first one on a couple AKs, and they all lock solidly open and closed. The push-button model might be a little more user-friendly and perhaps worth the extra money but I've never had problems with the cheaper folders so I just use them... Every little bit adds up.

You may want to look at the one available from this outfit. I'm going by how it seems to be built & it looks better in my opinion than the ACE unit.

I've used the standard folder and it locks up tight, both open and closed. One downside I see with the standard is if you open and close it a lot, wear will occur at the pivot point, eventually you may have some play in the open position.

Bushwack , Thank you for letting me know that there is another Folding Mechanism available, I thought ACE was our only choice. I have been looking very closely at the pics of this unit, and it appears to have two Locking Lugs, a small one on the hinge side, which might actually lock the stock in the OPEN Position, and a larger one oppsite the hinge side, which, with the smaller lug, lock the stock in the CLOSED Position. I will be calling Stormwerkz in the morning to confirm this, and also to corfirm that it is compatible with the ACE Receiver Block.
If they confirm that it is compatible, I will order it right away. Also this Folding Mechanism;s list price is $55.00, which is $5.00 less then the cheapest ACE Folding Mechanism !!! Again Thank You, Bushwack. Here's a pic that shows the Locking Lugs.

PhantasticPhan , You asked

The answer is No, unless you already have an ACE or Tromix Receiver Blocks already in it !

I did order it and the $55.00 List Price includes shipping. I really do hope that it's a very strong folding mechanism.
I will let everyone know when it arrives early next week.

First off, I am IMPRESSED. The Stormwerkz Folding Mechanism is TIGHT, IN THE CLOSED AND FOLDED POSITIONS.
IT HAS LARGE & VERY POSITIVE LOCKING LUGS in both positions & NO FLOP,SLOP OR WOBBLE... NONE AT ALL... PERIOD......

And I did say that it Lock's - TIGHT !!!!!!

if I need another Folding Mechanism, I would definitely buy another one of these Stormwerkz Folding Mechanism;s again, with Confidence !!!!!

After I get everything done and installed, I'll post some pics.
