 Pre-ban AK drum mag identification

Hi everyone, I'm on the hunt for a drum magazine in 7.62x39. Since I live in the Peoples Republic of New York, this is not legal to own unless its pre-ban. Now I'm wondering, how can I tell if what I'm buying is truly pre-ban? Are there any identifiers that can give it away like a date stamp or markings from a factory that stopped production before '94? Or do they all go unmarked?

I simply had the seller send a letter stating he sold me a drum that he owned prior to the ban to atleast try to cover my ass. Heres some more info tho:

What about the Russian made Molot drums? When did Russia stop production?
