Morning All,

Looking for some reviews on the mag linked below –– Bulgarian smooth/slabside (i.e. no bullet molds), steel lined 40-round mag.

40 Round Mag

Also, how would it compare to the following mag at J&G?

Other 40 rounder

Which would you choose? I know that when it comes to AKs, steel mags are the "gold standard", and at present, all of my mags are steel. So, my question is how do the Arfcom Masses rate these polymer mags?? If you have experience with either, good or bad, please provide details.

Thanks much.

The one J&G is selling is a POS and only useful as a TARGET at the range. As to the one CTD is selling I haven't heard good or bad on it.......YET!

Hopefully it is an new generation and improvement on the one J&G is selling as that one is only good use is as a target after all the bad press it received by EVERYBODY that handled them.

I have the one from CTD... never had a problem with it. Feeds well, fit the ole WASR 10/63 well. No complaints.

Thanks for the comments.

I think I'll stick w/ the steel ones from J&G. I may pick up a couple of the polymer ones from CTD a little later.

Thanks again!

I have the CTD mag and it works good so far. It is a bit more wobbly than my others and the price is way too high IMHO. Good for the range but i wouldnt trust my life to it

The only poly 40 round mags worth spending money on is 40rnd waffle mags.

+ 1 on the Circle 10s. Steel won't let you down if price is an issue though, and you can get quality steel ones for equal or less money than some people charge for the Bulgarian ones if you shop around. CDNN has dirt cheap poly 47 round thermold poly mags if you just want a range toy though, I think they were under 12 bucks.
