AMMO TYPES

What are the best types of 5.45x39 ammo? Including both surplus and new production. Give reasoning as to why if you do not mind. Thanks!!!

I've tried every kind/brand of 5.45 ammo I could find to see if it made a difference in accuracy. Have a couple of 74s, one likes surplus, the other hates it. Both shoot the best with Wolf 60 grain, neither like the Hornady and it is the most expensive. It's nice having both surplus (corrosive) and commercial (non commercial), if I'm not going to shoot much and don't want to bother cleaning it right away, I'll shoot commercial.

Thanks for the info, have you found any of the other types of surplus besides 7N6?

The only surplus I've used was Russian. There was some Bulgarian around a few years ago but haven't used it.
