 "Best" steel cased 5.56?

All I can find over on the AR side is accuracy testing and I'm wondering what steel cased 5.56 has the best terminal ballistics? I hate running good brass cased ammo through my SLR-106FR because it beats up the cases unnecessarily so I want to stock up on some steel case plinking ammo that I can use against soft targets if the need should arrive. I know FMJ is less than stellar but at least I don't have to feel bad about chewing up reloadable brass.

My suspicion is that there is no "best" judging by the brands I have tried.(55 grain)

A few statistically invalid (fluke) groups selected by the shooter are not "proof" by the way, that one is better than the other.

All of the shit shoots the same in my rifle and the rifles of anyone else whose shooting I have observed.

Buy whichever is cheapest.

I hadn't seen the Hornady stuff, too bad it's more expensive than xm193 or xm855.

Check out the Golden Tiger .223. It is noticeably hotter than WMC.

I’ve got about 4500 rounds through my 106F and my favorite steel case is the brown and silver bear. I like the silver better but it is a few $ more per 500. I’ve shot wolf MC 62gr’s through it as well and I wasn’t as happy with a couple of ftf’s (went on second strike) and spit cases.

Brown bear can usually get to me shipped at 115 per 500. Silver Bear is about $10 more per 500 shipped. I also find that the steel case is actually a tad easier to clean as I don’t get any of the little brass flecks all over the action that I do with the federal brass I also shoot.
