Tried to zero my AK-47 the other day, first with Wolf MC FMJ and then with Uly white box. The POI was signifcanly different. I read somewhere on this board that some shooters think Uly is more consistant. Any opinions?

Different cartridges will shoot to different points of impact. While the POI may differ, that fact does not mean one brand (or lot) of ammunition is less consistent than an other brand, lot or bullet style.
I have my rifles zeroed for a particular brand and bullet style of ammunition. When I shoot a different brand or a different style of bullet and maximum accuracy is a concern, I start by firing 10 shots off the bench from each rifle to determine the variance between POA and POI. If the difference is enough to be concerned about, I record the difference and hold over (or under) accordingly.

All Russian steel cased ammo will land within a 10 - 12 inch circle within 300 yards on a windless day. That's good enough for me. I think the different POI has more to do with the requisite 10%+ flyers with these ammo.
