Was in getting a few things and noticed the Tula 7.62x39mm in black box (yellow lettering) for $4.97 each. Anyone tried it yet?

All the time. I used to shoot the ulyanovsk until they stopped carrying it. Tula and uly are the same thing anyway. Works fine for my Arsenal. I like that its non corrosive, makes things easier.

At my Walmart they did. Apparently they are from the same manufacturer but different brands/boxes were used for export to different countries. Price stayed the same though which is nice.

Nothing wrong with Tula.

This is good to know. I went back to Wally World and picked up 10 boxes. The counter guy didn't give me no lip about box limits or anything. I figured I'd try my luck at another in the next town but they dinged me with that "6 boxes per person" line. So my wife bought 6 as well. I'll go back to my local WM next week.

They have a purchase limit? That's dumb of that store to do that since there's no ammo shortage right now. If I was the manager, I'd say, "Everyone, back your trucks up at the dock! Buy as much as you want!".

My walmart never even carrys enough to reach a purchase limit. They are always completely stocked on .223 and all the pistol calibers but they will only ever carry 4 or 5 boxes of 7.62.

There's a local range here that's been forbidding the use of Tul due to a high occurrence of squibs. May have been a one batch only thing, but keep your ears peeled for them.

Check out this page, scroll all the way to the bottom, then start going up. Looks like mid-late 2010 they had some pretty serious issues, but the more recent reviews seem to be better

I see the reviews but they deal with .223 and .45. I'm just asking about the 7.62x39mm. Looks like the issues were with other calibers. Or am I missing something?

My Wally world seems to get 4 boxes at a time and every time I see some I snatch them up. They shoot fine out of my wasr and Interarms ak's.

You guys are lucky if your Wal-Mart has that stuff in stock. I am on a first name basis with the gun counter guys at my WM who try and tip me off when the stuff comes in. Most of the time its gone before I get there too! And BTW thats in 3 counties.

Wait a minute....7.62x39 at Walmart. Shouldn't that be from China?

Dang stupid bans.

No 7.62 at the Wally World near me.
