It is pretty accurate but seems corrosive as all heck. 50 rounds left a nice green ring on the bolt face that was a pita to scrub off.

Brass case? South African came in a similar case, but I don't think it was corrosive. I still have some but it has been too long.......

Yes, brass case, no steel in the projectile either.

Looks like South African to me. All of their 5.56 and .308 was packaged the same way. There was some 7.63x39. It didnt last long. I shot some, It was fantastic stuff.

Sounds about right, What would be the time frame for the rust, if that is what you are asking about? Do you think it could be some powder residue? It can be a bitch to remove sometimes!

The rifle was cleaned hours after being fired. There wasn't any rust, just a green ring on the face of the bolt around where the primer was. I assumed that was corrosive residue, but it may not have been.

I like the stuff. This is 50 rounds at 25 yards (indoor range) offhand:

It is a lot more accurate than the Cheetah (Zimbabwe) I have been shooting for a couple years. My range doesn't allow steel anything in the ammo.

That is South African mil-surp. GREAT stuff and NON-Corrosive. I am still shooting a metric buttload of this stuff I bought for $0.09/round. I performed the nail test on this stuff when I first got it and after years of shooting this stuff through non-chrome barrels it is proven to be non-corrosive. However, non-corrosive does not mean you never have to clean your guns. I never found any green residue on my bolt face.

Look closely at the ammo - there may be green lacquer sealant at the primer. Rust from corrosive ammo is orange/brown, and this ammo isn't corrosive anyway.

This is it. Thanks for the info, and wish I had more.
