Help identify this ammo for me.
I bought a thousand rounds of this ammo at an auction. The case is green-brown with a the #3 at 12 o'clock and #97 at 6 o'clock on the headstamp. 123 grain hollowpoint bullet. I'm looking for country of origin, and is it corrosive. Thanks for the help.
It's Russian, made by Ulyanovsk in 1997, and most likely non-corrosive. There have been reports of odd lots of corrosive Russian 7.62x39mm from the mid 1990's, even though they are marked as being non-corrosive. If it is a big deal to you, just test it first to be sure.
