Problems with Silver Bears??
I ordered a case of silver bears a few days ago and haven't fired them. I just read where a few places have stopped selling them because of unmentioned problems. What's the deal?
I've gone through thousands of rounds of 7.62x39 Silver Bear without a single issue. My SB is older stuff from my stash however, if there are recent production issues I wouldn't see it.
This is where I read it. Maybe they received a bad batch. Who knows.

I've not heard anything... but man, that place had some pretty high prices on their stuff, especially the golden tiger & wolf

One almost wonders if the "problem" (which they don't specify) they've had with SB & BB is their prices aren't competitve. Their original ad calls the stuff "nickel-plated" (it isn't, it's zinc) and claims "almost" match grade accuracy. But of a sudden all calibers in those brands are suspect.
SB & BB have always shot as good or (often) better than Wolf in most all calibers for me. The BS detector is edging into the red .................
I shot some Silver Bear 125gr softpoints this past weekend. They have been loaded in magazines since last August. No corrosion or any other issues. They shot 3 inch groups at 100 yds out of my Arsenal SGL with a red dot. Seems accurate enough for me. Muzzle flash at dusk was quite impressive

I just bought about 120 rounds of SB and shot them all, the Hollow Points. No issues to report, planned on ordering more this week, but I may go with another Russian brand.
I ordered 1500 rounds and have shot about 400 a few weeks ago. Ran great.
BB and SB have not even been imported for more than 6 months now. Stating there are problems with them is simply an unfair statement. Buy what you can before it's all gone though...
+1.
When in doubt, buy ammo.

Whoever said that is a retard.
I took the time to look up the quote to clear everything up since this is the third time I saw someone mention that....

Yeah, I haven't had a problem.
I shot approximately 120 rounds this last weekend of SB 7.62. No issues, no FTFs, nothing. Very good groups for an AMD-65. Now I will say one thing that I noticed:
I happened to see that one of the spent shells had a split running down from the neck onto the shoulder of the case. I don't know if that is a big red flag or not, but my brother who was shooting with me did not seem to think it was cause for worry.
SB is all I shoot in 5.45.
I've never had a problem with them.
I have shot a lot of both Brown Bear and Silver Bear in 7.62x39 with no problems and great groups, I just ordered 750rds of Silver Bear FMJ in 5.45x39 for my new SGL31-61 that I hope to pickup Wed. 06/08 when the FBI delay times out.
I did stop by Sooner Guns today and Mark let me inspect the rifle.

I can't wait to get it and I think the Ammo. will show up by Wed. also since it's coming from only about 100 miles from me.
