I have a Polytech AKS with a Ultimak mounted. How does one clean the rifle without removing the Ultimak? I guess my question is how to best clean the Ultimak and the gas piston chamber. I allways removed the upper tube and scrubbed it out. Then I fully cleaned the gas piston chamber and even the gas tube hole into the barrel. I can now do none of this. Please let me know how you personally clean yur AK without removing ( a MAJOR hassle ) your Ultimak... Thanks!

I use bore foam (Break Free, Wipe Out, or MPro7 (aka Hoppe's Elite)) and a shotgun mop.

This concerns me too. It's easy to clean the gas tube itself with it still on the rifle, but the gas port into the barrel i s a concern when shooting the corrosively primed surplus ammo.

I think the corrosive primer issue is way overblown.

Shoot some bore cleaner down there - until it comes out the muzzle - then rinse it out.

That would be the downside of the Ulitmak...
