 Dumb question about trigger group.

I'm pretty sure I know, but I need to ask before I fire the weapon.

Story:
I recently got an Arsenal SGL20-41 for Christmas and I was swapping out the Shepards hook for a krebs retaining plate so I can work on the trigger later without as much fuss. In order to get the hook out without deforming it too much (I wanted to save it) I had to pull the pin for the hammer which mal-aligned the spring for the trigger. I then had to pull the pin for the trigger to get at the spring which had slipped under it. The only small spring that came loose during this was the disconnect spring I think, which gives tension on the trigger. I got that spring back in place and the trigger pin back in. Everything seems back to normal, and the weapon seems to operate fine with snap caps.

Of course afterward I look at an AKM manual and notice mention of a Hammer retarder, and associated spring. I don't believe this firearm has the Hammer retarder and I just wanted to make sure there aren't any other springs I might have missed flying out.

Question:
For those familiar with this firearm, there is just a hammer spring and disconnect spring to worry about in the fire control group, correct?

Correct. The only springs in the fcg are the disconnector spring (a small coil spring) and the hammer/trigger spring. The hammer retarder/rate reducer is only found on full auto AKMs.

Did you have to modify the krebs retaining plate at all or was it drop in?

Been debating getting one for my SGL21.

Thanks in advance.

It was drop in once I got the shepherds hook out. It literally just takes seconds to put in.

The pain was removing the shepherds hook. I had to remove the hammer pin to get leverage to push the shepherds hook out. The shepherds hook is under the hammer pin, then goes over and under the trigger pin and back towards the mag well. You can probably do it without removing any pins with a good pair of needle nose and some muscle. You may end up bending the hook a bunch but if you don't plan on saving it then you should be alright.

The Krebs plate sure makes it easier to work on the trigger, and I can't imagine removing and replacing that hook, the hook is a pain to work with.

Sweet. Looks like I'll have to get one.
