Hey guys,

I did some searching and couldn't find anything...

What are some spare parts that I should keep on hand for repairing an AK?

Thanks guys!

The PKM (upside down AK action) was issued with a spares kit that contained a firing pin, extractor, and extractor axle. Those 3 parts seem to be what the Sov thought would break most often.

k-var.com has 'bolt head refurb' kits which have all the small parts of the bolt. They also sell a spring kit with all the springs.

In the wonderful world of AK's, are the parts completely interchangeable?

The bolt parts seem to be... At least I haven't ran into incompatible parts problems with bolt parts. BSW

Only problem with swapping bolts is headspacing.
Change the Bolt, you change the headspace unless the bolts are matched previously to the barrel
with a set of H/S gauges.

I have a spare F/P and a case extractor. Not worried about spare parts too much.
Unlike my AR's.
