need some help, my friend's AK - WASR

Ok, my friend showed me his AK WASR after work, and I checked it. It was different them my AKs, a little...
What I have notice is a lot of wear on piston, I am guessing its from the entry of the gas port chamber, looks like cut marks.
Ok major problem is that he said it stopped firing, I took a look and notice the firing pin is missing.
My question is ..... is this the main reason or something cause the firing pin to break off or something?
Where do I buy a replacement pin for it? the cheapest... I am going to order a few parts to, just incase parts, hehehehe.
