JB weld muzzle brake?
Is it possible to JB weld a Muzzle brake onto a Ak that has had its tread grinded down? I was thinking about doing it to my new ssr 85-c 2. Will it hold up to the pressures of firing?
You should have no problem. I had a muzzle brake JB welded onto my MAK-90 during the Clinton Ban years. the JB held up to a 3 day carbine course I took at Blackwater (1,500 or so rounds in 3 days).
May depend on how tight the fit is. That said, mine was real snug going on with the JB Weld, and it has been in place for 5 years now with zero problems.
Different application but it holds my front sight on my mossberg shotgun so far with no cracks or feeling loose, just clean the metal really well file the metal bare and degrease the area. I also used a scale to get the exact amount of jb weld for each half.
I would get someone qualified to spot weld it to the front sight tower.
I JB Welded a threaded Krink Comp to the end of my 1st SAR-3, it works too good, now I want to get it off, it was just a press fit, and I have heated the bbl end to smack it back off. No budge. Any ideas on removing a JB Welded comp on would be appreciated.
