Both hammer and trigger pins are bent

I detailed stripped my FCG last night. I noticed both my pins were bent, such that getting the hammer pin out required some serious pushing. Is this normal in a high round count Norinco?

I see Brownells carries replacements, does anyone else?

Are these pins supposed to be interchangeable? My trigger pin has raised edges where the trigger rotates around it while the hammer pin is smooth.

thanks,
jab

Bent?

Did you remove the retaining wire before driving them out?

u betcha!

Trigger pin came out easily enough. But the hammer pin had to be banged pretty hard with a brass punch.

I have never encountered this.

I wolud save the damaged pins for forensic post-mortem to see if they are soft.

I believe they all interchange.

Have you noticed any egging on the pin holes? I'd check for that as well.

Please post photos of the pins.

In the future, it you press down with your thumb with mild to moderate pressure on the hammer, this will relieve sufficient tension to press the pins inward with your finger enough to leave a tail sticking out to pull out with your index finger and thumb.

I am fairly confused as t how you bent the hammer and trigger pins, these pins are typically ROCK SOLID and very dense and strong metal.

I had a Romy kit a while back that had bent axis pins, thought it was just a fluke until I read this. I can't imagine how the pins would get bent, but they were and no signs of a problem with the rest of the kit. It took a few good whacks to get them straight.

Hey Gents, maybe an out of spec lower? That could do it, especially if the weapon has been fired. Maybe not enough out of spec to flunk inspection, but enough to creat bent FCG pins. Jabberwo, I would find some measurement specs and start measuring. If that's the problem, good luck on an easy fix. Just my thoughts, FWIW....
