Best Milled AK receiver available?
Since Arsenal will not sell their milled AK receivers to kit builders, what is the best milled receiver currently available? By best I mean which does not need to "tuned" to function. I have heard both good and bad things about CNC Warrior and Firingline recievers. I got outbid on an SLR-100 receiver on Gunbroker

CNC Warrior is who I would go with. Although, my last milled build was using a Ohio Rapid Fire receiver. I have even used a Vulcan receiver without too much problems. But like I said, I would go with CNC Warrior if I were looking at this point.

CNC warrior is the best milled receiver in current production. I use the term production because there are a few others out there that have had deposits for almost a year and no product to show for it.
Denny is good people and stands behind his product. They have there issues but most are cosmetic. I have built many on ORF, Firing Line, CNC War, and some shit box company from I can not remember and the most consistent product and vendor is CNC Warrior.

It went for about $550.00
I would also vote for CNC Warrior. AM still building a M70 on an ORF receiver, haven't finished adjusting the mag well so it will actually feed. I may either have to remove the selector stop or mill some of the receiver. This is the build that drove me to AR's - haven't fired a 7.62 bullet in months other than the test fires on the Yugo. Really starting to hate this rifle.
Sorry guys, totally new to the scene. Almost plunked down a bunch of money for a milled AK last week, but couldn't get myself to spend the 1100, so I was looking at possibly building one with a milled receiver. So say if I did pick up a receiver from CNC, will that receiver be picky with the rest of the parts that I need? Because of the higher price, I am assuming that the cnc yugo pattern has an advantage over the cnc russian pattern, but roughly how much more would I have to spend to finish the rifle with decent parts? Is the build really hard? I see some frustration in BLkwaterAK's post, so wondering if it's too big of a project to take on.... Thanks guys...

That depends, are you going to assemble it yourself? A decent Bulgarian milled parts kit can be had for about $170.00 or so, the barrel I bought from KVar, it was about $250.00, you will need the classic profile barrel as opposed to an AKM barrel, unless you use AKM barrel parts. So, you are looking at around $600 for the parts and receiver, then there is refinishing. Possibly another $200+, that puts you at $800+ -. If you want someone else to assemble it add another $300-$500 depending on who does it, so lets say $1200 all in. A new Classic Milled from Aresnal is around $2000.00, other manufacturers milled AK's can be bought for between $1000-$1200. Even assebling it yourself you will have to buy or borrow some tools.
I can't compare different milled receivers as I only have experience with one.
It was a CNC Warrior milled Russian-style receiver. I had ZERO build issues with it. Everything was superbly finished and all components fit w/ only minor fitting details.
I had to file bottom of bullet guide to fit in channel in bottom of receiver, and enlarge rivet hole for the bullet guide rivet in the receiver. Also had to enlarge rivet holes for pistol grip nut in bottom of receiver.
These were minor adjustments made with minimal effort and time.
If I build another milled rifle, it will be on a CNC Warrior receiver.
