Holes for the folding mechanism aside. Are the rivets for the trunnions in the same place?
The reason I'm asking is, Nodak seems to be out of completed AKS74 receivers right now, and I was wondering if I could just drill/file some extra holes for the latch mechanism in a AK74 reciever. I don't think that I want to try and bend my own flat since it just seems like a pain in the ass, and I'd have to buy a very heavy press (which might be worth it I guess, if I plan on building more in the future. But to me, it seems like it'd just be tempting me to spend more money all the time). The site says that they will restock in May/June, but that's a bit of a wait.
Also, this is a bit of a stretch. But anyone have blueprints, or at least, detailed measurements of a set of side folder trunnions? I'm a very very very amateur machinist in my local CC's program. I was thinking of making one as machining practice.
The dimensions are out there, just search for them. In fact I think they are some where on this website (sorry, ask everyone I'm lazy and won't do something you can do for yourself). As far as not wanting to fold a receiver, look into those that are already folded and see about milling out what you need.
